Located in the heart of Oxford, NC, we are a trusted legal firm that proudly serves the communities of Granville County and its neighboring counties, including Vance, Franklin, Warren, Person, Durham, and Wake. With a rich history, we were formerly known as Hicks & Koinis PLLC and Hopper, Hicks & Wrenn PLLC, and we have been providing excellent legal services to this region for many years.

Kyle Hicks

Kyle concentrates his practice in the areas of real estate (both residential and commercial), probate, estate settlement, estate planning, tax foreclosure, guardianships, and social services. He has been a North Carolina State Bar Board Certified Specialist in Real Property Law—Residential Transactions since 1993. He routinely works with individuals, businesses, realtors, lenders, and title companies to provide thorough representation in the purchase, sale, and financing of real estate in Granville, Vance, Warren, Franklin, and Person Counties.

Kyle’s clients include not only people and businesses from North Carolina who are conducting real estate transactions, but also those from all over the United States purchasing and selling real estate locally. In addition, he represents the Granville County Department of Social Services in both child and adult protective services. He also represents the Granville County and Vance County Tax Offices in property tax lien foreclosures, and lenders (both individual and commercial) in mortgage foreclosures. Whether an individual, commercial, or institutional client, Kyle provides quality legal services in a timely and affordable manner.

He received his B.S. degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1981, and his J.D. from Wake Forest University School of Law in 1984. He is a member of the North Carolina, Granville County and Ninth Judicial District Bar Associations, and was admitted to the North Carolina Bar in 1984. Kyle is also a member of the North Carolina Land Title Association, the American Land Title Association, and the Christian Legal Society. He has lived in Granville County, North Carolina all of his life, is married with two grown children and has two grandchildren.

Harrison Preddy

Harrison, a native of the Wilton Community in Granville County, focuses his practice in the areas of commercial and residential real estate, estate planning and administration, business and corporate law, business startup planning, trademark and copyright intellectual property law, franchise law, land use regulations, tax foreclosure proceedings, education law, guardianships, collections law, and special proceedings. Harrison serves his community as Counsel to the Granville Couty Department of Social Services regarding child support collection and enforcement. Furthermore, Harrison is a Guardian Ad Litem for Granville County in Adult Petitions for Incompetency and Guardianship.

Harrison represents a wide array of clients including local and nationally recognized companies and corporations, private individuals, government entities, and clients from all aspects of life. Harrison is a graduate of Kerr Vance Academy in Henderson, after which he obtained his Bachelor’s Degree from North Carolina State University. Harrison then attended the Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law at Campbell University wherein the Degree of Juris Doctorate was conferred upon him.

Harrison is an actively engaged member of the legal and greater Granville County communities. Harrison is a member of the North Carolina, Granville County Bar and Ninth Judicial District Bar Associations, in which he served as Vice President of the Ninth Judicial District Bar Association from 2022-2023. He is also a member of the Brassfield Baptist Church congregation in Creedmoor where he has been a lifelong member. Additionally, Harrison is a member of the various local committees including the Steering Committee for Leadership Granville, hosted by the Granville County Chamber of Commerce.

Daniel Washburn

Daniel grew up in Creedmoor, North Carolina, where he attended Granville County Schools. Upon graduation from South Granville High School, he attended North Carolina Wesleyan University in Rocky Mount. While in college, he played baseball and received his Bachelor’s Degree in History. Following college, he received his Juris Doctorate from Campbell University School of Law. He has previous experience as an Assistant District Attorney in Vance County, North Carolina, and as a Civil Litigator in private practice. Daniel and his wife, Caroline, another Granville County native, reside in Youngsville. In Daniel’s spare time, he loves to cook, travel, try new restaurants, play golf, and is an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves and Carolina Panthers. Daniel and his wife are also very involved in their local church, Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Creedmoor, North Carolina. Daniel is very excited to return to his roots and serve Granville County.
